About TallyPine Studio

CREATE • INSPIRE • ADVENTURE

A curious eye. An open trail.

TallyPine Studio brings together photography, practical learning, and designs inspired by the outdoors. It’s a place for the moments you want to capture, the discoveries you want to remember, and the things you create along the way.

THE PERSON BEHIND TALLYPINE

Hi, I’m Jon.

I’m based in Idaho, with a love for photography, wildlife, the Oregon Coast, and a clear night sky. Fog over a lake, the movement of the ocean, or a bird that holds still just long enough—those are the kinds of moments that keep me reaching for a camera.

That same curiosity runs through TallyPine: learning how things work, trying a new idea, and turning inspiration into something useful or worth keeping.

THROUGH MY LENS

WHAT I TAKE OUTSIDE

The tools behind the curiosity.

My main camera is the Nikon Z6III. The NIKKOR Z 24–120mm f/4 S covers everyday exploring and landscapes, while the NIKKOR Z 180–600mm gives wildlife a little more room.

A Rokinon 14mm f/2.8, Sirui tripod, and wired remote round out the kit for wider views and slower, more deliberate photography. I also use a Sony RX100 VII when traveling light.

The goal is always to get outside, notice more, and keep learning.

From an idea to something you can use.

Learn. Photography books, field guides, and quick-reference cards offer practical starting points for getting more comfortable with your camera.

Remember. Journals make room for the places you visit, the photographs you take, and what you want to try differently next time.

Create. Scenic designs, desk mats, and a growing workshop bring a little of the outdoors into everyday spaces.

Photography and imagination, clearly distinguished.

The gallery above features my own photographs. Elsewhere in the studio, some illustrations, artwork, and styled mockups are created with AI assistance. Those visuals serve a different purpose from documentary photography; product pages explain the format and what is included.
